Double-skin façades
Description
The double-skin façades is a double wall façade consisting of an external glass skin and a continuous internal façade that work together as a covering.
Between the two is an air chamber between 20 and 80 cm wide. The ventilation of the chamber is defined based on the location, the architectural project, and the performance needs of the building.
This type of façade has many advantages, as the double protection ensures higher control over the energy and safety parameters, while the air chamber between the two sections becomes a sound and thermal filter due to the controlled ventilation.
On an aesthetic point of view, the double skin solution is selected due to its versatility, as the two façades can be built differently based on needs and taste, allowing very high levels of diversification of the general look.
